Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Linkbry ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the Linkbry web application at app.linkbry.com and the Linkbry Chrome extension.
What we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
- Content you save — the links you save, along with their titles, descriptions, folders, tags, and the workspaces you organize them in.
- Usage data — when a saved link is opened from Linkbry, we record a click event (link, workspace, time) to power your workspace's analytics dashboard. This data is visible only to members of that workspace.
- Billing information — payments are processed by Polar. We never see or store your card details; we store only your subscription status and plan.
The Chrome extension
The extension exists for one purpose: saving pages to your Linkbry workspace. When you explicitly save a page — via the toolbar popup, right-click menu, or keyboard shortcut — the extension reads that page's URL, title, and meta description to pre-fill the save form, and sends them to the Linkbry API over HTTPS. It does not read any other page content, does not run on pages you are not saving, and does not track your browsing.
The optional "saved badge" setting (off by default) checks the address of your current tab against your own saved links so the toolbar icon can show a checkmark on pages you already saved. These checks are sent only to the Linkbry API, are not stored as browsing history, and stop immediately when you turn the setting off. We never sell or share extension data with third parties.
How we use your data
- To provide, maintain, and improve Linkbry.
- To send transactional email (verification, password reset, workspace invitations) via our email provider, Loops.
- To process subscription payments via Polar.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your saved links or browsing activity for advertising.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in (a refresh token, scoped to linkbry.com). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Data sharing
Links saved to a shared workspace are visible to that workspace's members. Beyond that, your data is shared only with the service providers named above (payment, email, and hosting infrastructure), strictly to operate Linkbry, and when required by law.
Data retention & deletion
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete individual links, folders, and workspaces at any time from the app. To delete your account and all associated data, deactivate it in Settings or contact us and we will remove it.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, sessions use short-lived rotating tokens, and access to production systems is restricted.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and revise the date above.
